The cloth pH value of garment materials is one of important indices what customers require, and is one compulsory physical index. As pH value of people’s skin looks sub-acidity however cloth pH value of in course of production often looks alkalescency therefore customers have stricter requirement against cloth pH value.
Domestic factories of garment materials normally adopt American Standard while our national standard has its method as follows: boil distilled water 250 ml for 10 minutes, put in shredded cloth 10g then boil it for another 30 minutes. Measuring pH value after cooling (American Standard); put in shredded cloth 2g in distilled water 100 ml. Measuring methods and equipments from different standards have one disadvantage: complex test order and long period, so they are unsuitable for test in course of production.
